Leather Care Guide

At E.KYUNG, we use only the finest natural leathers. To maintain the beauty and longevity of your piece, please follow the specific care instructions for each leather type.

1. Lambskin (Premium Softness)

Lambskin is crafted from young sheep, offering an incredibly soft, buttery texture and feather-light weight. It is the signature material for our ekyung hobo bags.

  • Characteristics: It has a finer grain and smaller pores, making it exceptionally elegant but also more delicate.
  • Special Care: * Since it is sensitive to scratches and moisture, avoid contact with sharp objects and rough surfaces.
    • Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove dust.
    • Avoid carrying excessively heavy items to preserve its delicate, supple shape.

2. Sheepskin (Natural Durability)

Sheepskin comes from adult sheep, providing a thicker and more durable finish than lambskin. It features a natural grain that develops a beautiful character over time.

  • Characteristics: It is resilient yet remains flexible and soft, offering a more structured and vintage feel.
  • Special Care: * To keep the leather hydrated, apply a small amount of leather conditioner every 1–2 months.
    • Store in the provided dust bag to prevent color fading from friction or light.

 Common Care (For All Leathers)

  • Moisture: If the leather gets wet, do not rub. Gently pat it with a dry cloth and let it air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Never use a hair dryer or heater.
  • Sunlight & Heat: Keep away from direct sunlight and high temperatures to prevent the leather from hardening or cracking.
  • Storage: To maintain the bag's silhouette, store it with light stuffing (like clean tissue paper) and keep it in its dust bag in a cool, dry place.
